Description
PTPRC (CD45) is a transmembrane tyrosine phosphatase that is present on all leukocytes. PTPRC regulates the threshold of T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling through dephosphorylation of protein tyrosine kinases (e.g. Lck and Fyn). CD45RB is an isoform of the PTPRC (CD45) protein which is expressed on peripheral B cells, T cytotoxic cells and CD4+ T cells. It has a role in cell signalling regulation through the activation of the Src family of tyrosine kinases. PD7/26 is widely used, in conjunction the CD45 antibody 2B11, to detect white cell-derived tumours in paraffin sections.
